"That happens when I narrowly avoid a fight with my mate," she shot back and then immediately let out a sharp yelp at his thumb pressing into a knot between her shoulder blades.

The yelp hung in the air only to be replaced by a whimper and then a softer moan. Fuck, he had the most incredible hands. And that he was willing to use them for her comfort and pleasure...how had she gotten so lucky?

Of course, she didn't say that. "Mandatory breaks? Prove you'll make it worthwhile."

Neil grit his teeth a little when she cried out, but he kept pressure and channeled more heat through his fingers to ease the discomfort until the knot eased and she made sounds that were downright pornographic.

Her challenge made him smile as he leaned down to kiss her temple with a rough sigh rumbling in her ear.

“Beloved, if I try to prove it right now? You won’t be goin’ back to work at your desk in twenty minutes.” He warned, laughing just a little. “And a knight keeps his word, right? Part of the whole redemption thing, too, I’d wager.”

Regina lowered her head again, smothering a chuckle and a pale flush. "That was not what I meant." She'd meant this, with the back rub, and his amazing hands, but of course he'd taken it in a sexual direction. Everything was an innuendo with them eventually, so he was only cutting to the chase.
