Neil grit his teeth a little when she cried out, but he kept pressure and channeled more heat through his fingers to ease the discomfort until the knot eased and she made sounds that were downright pornographic.

Her challenge made him smile as he leaned down to kiss her temple with a rough sigh rumbling in her ear.

“Beloved, if I try to prove it right now? You won’t be goin’ back to work at your desk in twenty minutes.” He warned, laughing just a little. “And a knight keeps his word, right? Part of the whole redemption thing, too, I’d wager.”

Regina lowered her head again, smothering a chuckle and a pale flush. "That was not what I meant." She'd meant this, with the back rub, and his amazing hands, but of course he'd taken it in a sexual direction. Everything was an innuendo with them eventually, so he was only cutting to the chase. "But I appreciate your forbearance, my love."
